Mesh Generation and Remeshing
"Mesh generation, adaptive mesh and remeshing" is one of my expertise. I have published several journal papers discussing the algorithms and techniques of mesh generation, adaptive mesh and remeshing, and have practical experiences in developing general and product-specific 2D and 3D codes for mapping and unstructured meshes.
"BLOWER", for instance, is a customized software package of stress and natural frequency analysis I had developed for blower-specific manufacturing industry. It includes brick-element and shell-element mesh generation, generation of load and boundary conditions, stress and Eigen-frequency analysis, and visualization of results. Comparing with general purpose commercial codes, it requires fewer data-input and is quite easy-to-use for analysis of specific structures (e.g. blowers and air-compressors).
To simulate crack propagation, a module "Local Remeshing" has been developed for updating mesh automatically during the process of crack propagation in an arbitrary 3D domain. In this work, an enhanced Advancing Front Technique (Zuo, Deng, Sutton, International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 63, 2005) was developed to generate adaptive mesh in domains containing discontinuities in geometry (e.g. cracks, holes).
