Professor, Mechanical Engineering
Dr. Bayoumi's research and interests are in the areas of Information Technology (Modeling, Simulation, and Computations, Health Monitoring Data Storage and Data Security, Information Technology in Biomedical Research), MEMS/NEMS/Mechatronics (MEMS/NEMS Manufacturing and Qualifications, Mechatronics Manufacturing and Design, Precision Engineering and Metrology), and Materials and Mechanics (Mechanical Diagnosis/Prognosis of Military Equipment, Image Processing in Materials Characterizations, Mechanistic Modeling of MFG Processes).
Dr. Bayoumi is the Director of Biomedical Engineering. His duties include the coordination of the interdisciplinary program, overseeing courses taught, and helping to grow one of less than 100 biomedical engineering programs scattered throughout the United States into the best program the Southeast has to offer.
