Evaluation Activities

·         Fellows and Teachers meet at the GK-12 Kickoff.

·         Teachers share lesson plans, begin planning activities, meeting weekly outside the presence of students.

·         Fellows take classes, write thesis, keep journal, attend GK-12 Program meetings.

·         Fellows shadow Teacher.

·         Fellows observe classroom science, mathematics and technology instruction.

·         Fellows assist Teachers with Teacher-planned lessons, as appropriate.

·         Draw an Engineer.

·         Fellows, Teachers and Students complete pre-program surveys.

·         Fellows submit journals at the end of the month.

September

·         Teachers select lessons for Fellows to team-teach.

·         Teachers and Fellows continue weekly planning meetings.

·         Fellows find and/or develop hands-on activities aligned with Teacher’s Lesson Plans.

·         Fellows take classes, write thesis, keep journal, attend GK-12 Program meetings.

·         Fellows begin team teaching of Teacher-planned lessons.

·         Fellows deliver a Teacher-Planned lesson (e.g. a FOSS Kit module).

·         Teachers provide feedback to Fellows; discuss what’s working and what is not.

·         Teachers and Fellows complete formative evaluation surveys.

·         Fellows submit journals at the end of the month.

October

·         Teachers and Fellows continue weekly planning meetings, outside the presence of students.

·         Fellows find and/or develop hands-on activities aligned with Teacher’s Lesson Plans.

·         Fellows take classes, write thesis, keep journal, attend GK-12 Program meetings.

·         Fellows continue team teaching and delivery of Teacher-planned lessons.

·         Fellows deliver Fellow-planned lessons that situate science in engineering problem solving and/or design.

·         Teachers participate in Focus Group.

·         Fellows submit journals at the end of the month.

November-December

·         Teachers and Fellows continue weekly planning meetings, outside the presence of students.

·         Fellows find and/or develop hands-on activities aligned with Teacher’s Lesson Plans.

·         Fellows take classes, write thesis, keep journal, attend GK-12 Program meetings.

·         Fellows and Teachers select best-practice activities, and Fellows begin planning the Stuff-of-Science Workshop.

·         Fellows continue team teaching and delivery of Teacher-planned lessons.

·         Fellows deliver Fellow-planned lessons that situate science in engineering problem solving and/or design

·         Draw an Engineer.

·         Fellows, Teachers, Students, Parents complete end-program survey.

·         Fellows submit journals at the end of the month.
