FISCAL DUTIES

• Coordinates and monitors the fiscal activities of the ME Department
• Prepares personnel and payroll documents for graduate and undergraduate students, and temporary employees
• Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting documents for all research grants and contracts
• Responsible for timely reporting of fiscal data on contracts and grants to Principal Investigators
• Monitors the expenditures of the department for contract and grant accounts to report availability of overhead funds
• Keeps the department Chair apprised of budget problems and discrepancies
• Acts as a liaison between the department and other educational institutions and businesses involved in joint research activities
• Serves as the focal point and liaison for the department in activities associated with the college Business Office, including investigating discrepancies and problems concerning payroll for research associates, students, and temporary employees
