Scholarships & Financial Aid

MECHANICAL & ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are awarded each year by the College of Engineering and Information Technology to deserving students.  Most of the following scholarships are awarded based primarily upon the academic strength of the applicant.  Although requirements vary from scholarship to scholarship, general guidelines include an SAT score above 1100 and admission into the College of Engineering and Information Technology as a full-time student.  To apply for any of the follow scholarships, please complete the Scholarship Application Form and fax it to the College of Engineering's Office of Student Services at (803) 777-0027.

Alumax of South Carolina
This is not a recurring scholarship opportunity.  Awarded to a worthy undergraduate student in the College of Engineering and Information Technology.

Bickley Family Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to worthy undergraduate students who are enrolled in the College of Engineering and Information Technology, with a preference given to residents of North Augusta, South Carolina or Aiken County, South Carolina.

Charles Willis Eaddy Scholarship
Awarded to worthy students in Mechanical Engineering.

Clarence L. Fishburne, Jr. Scholarship
Awarded to upperclassmen undergraduate students majoring in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

College of Engineering General Scholarship Fund
Awarded at the discretion of the College of Engineering and Information Technology.

Dr. Nathan E. Hardwick Scholarship in Mechanical Engineering
Awarded to worthy undergraduate Mechanical Engineering students with preference given in the following order:  (1) attended East Carolina Academy (Loris, South Carolina), (2) graduated from Loris High School, (3) permanent home in Dunwoody, Georgia, (4) College of Engineering and Information Technology scholarship committee recommendation.  The award is for four years as long as the recipient maintains the appropriate GPA.

Engineering Faculty, Student, and Alumni Scholarship
Awarded to an entering freshman on the basis of academic promise.  The award is renewable as long as the student maintains a good record.

Frank B. Herty Scholarship
Awarded to students preparing for careers in Mechanical Engineering.  This is based on scholastic earnestness, evidence of interest in and service to others, and financial need.

Hartness International Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a worthy undergraduate student majoring in an engineering discipline.

J. Carroll Johnson Scholarship
Awarded to a worthy undergraduate engineering student.

Jack Price Scholarship
Awarded to worthy undergraduate students in the College of Engineering and Information Technology who are married and who also have financial need.

John and Sarah Begg Scholarship
Awarded to worthy undergraduate students who are majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

John H. Bonitz, Sr. Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a worthy undergraduate student who is majoring in Engineering.

Joseph M. Bledenbach Scholarship
Awarded to worthy undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Engineering and Information Technology who have a C+ or better GPA.

Lewis M. Caswell Mechanical Engineering Scholarship
Awarded to a worthy undergraduate student majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

M. Walker and Ruth Rast Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a worthy undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student.

Pirelli Cable Scholarship
Awarded to a worthy undergraduate upperclassman majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Southern Nuclear Operating Company Diversity Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating high school senior who is a member of an underrepresented group that will promote diversity across the student body and is pursuing the study of Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.

Southern Nuclear Operating Company Scholarship
Awarded to an upcoming sophomore student who is engaged in the study of Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.

Strom Thurmond Engineering Scholarship
Awarded to full-time undergraduate students majoring in engineering.

Vending Scholarship
Awarded to a worthy undergraduate engineering student.

The Warren Group Scholarship
Awarded to a rising junior or senior undergraduate student in Mechanical Engineering.

W. O. Blackstone Scholarship
Awarded to a worthy undergraduate student who is majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
