Mini Baja® is a
design competition which gives real-world engineering design experience
to participating SAE
(Society of Automotive Engineers) student members. Teams
from around the world compete to have their design chosen for manufacture
by a fictitious company. Competing teams must design, manufacture,
test, promote, and seek financial sponsorship in addition to racing
their vehicle. The vehicle must be able to withstand traversing
rough terrain.
All team vehicles are equipped with a ten-horsepower
Intek Model 20 engine, donated by
Briggs & Stratton
Corporation.
